TaxMee respects privacy and handles information carefully. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect and disclose information in connection with the TaxMee website, TaxMee Desktop software, TaxMee Attendance, e-Library, free trials, paid subscriptions, support and related services.

Software Service Provider

TaxMee is a software and software-service provider. We provide limited access to our own proprietary software, support and reference resources. We do not sell the software to users, and payment for any plan, offer, subscription or renewal does not transfer ownership rights in the software.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Legal Basis and Consent

We process information where it is necessary to provide requested services, perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate business and security interests, respond to support requests or where consent has been provided. By submitting information to TaxMee or using the service, you confirm that you are authorised to share that information with us.

User-Controlled Data

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality and authorisation of employee, payroll, attendance and business data entered into TaxMee. If you upload or process personal data of employees, workers, clients or third parties, you are responsible for providing required notices, obtaining required permissions and complying with applicable laws.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, loss or disclosure. No method of storage, transmission or software operation is completely secure. Users must protect their devices, passwords, licence keys, backups and authorised access.

Local Device Data and Backups

Some TaxMee Desktop or local software data may be stored on the user's own computer or systems. In such cases, the user is responsible for device security, access control, backups, antivirus protection, system maintenance and data recovery unless TaxMee has expressly agreed in writing to provide a specific managed backup service.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers, payment processors, hosting providers, email or messaging providers, analytics providers, support partners, auditors, professional advisers, government authorities or legal forums when required for service delivery, security, compliance, payment, support or lawful requests.

Third-Party Services

TaxMee may use or link to third-party services such as payment gateways, government portals, messaging tools, browser PDF viewers, hosting services or analytics tools. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Users should review third-party terms before using those services.

Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to remember preferences, improve performance, measure traffic, secure sessions and understand product interest. You may control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain accounts, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent misuse and maintain business records. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, service used, legal requirements and operational needs.

User Rights and Requests

Subject to applicable law and verification, you may request access, correction, update, deletion or restriction of certain personal information. Some information may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, contractual or dispute-resolution reasons.

Confidentiality

We treat customer business information and support materials as confidential. Users must also keep TaxMee credentials, licence keys, pricing arrangements, non-public product information and support materials confidential.

Children's Privacy

TaxMee services are intended for businesses and professional users. They are not directed to children. Users should not submit children's personal data unless there is a lawful business or statutory basis and appropriate authorisation.

Security, Misuse and Service Restriction

If we detect misuse, unauthorised access, false information, licence sharing, harmful activity, illegal use, policy violation or security risk, we may suspend, restrict or terminate access to protect TaxMee, users, data and services.

International Processing

Depending on the service providers used, information may be processed or stored in India or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to reasonable safeguards and applicable law.
